Multiplication Grids
Multiplication grids are newer types of multiplication worksheets. At least, I don’t remember this type of worksheet from my childhood. Most of what I remember involved individual problems to solve.
This nifty version of the chart has an X and Y axis, with numbers one through 15 listed on each. Our free download includes an answer key as well as blank tables to work.
How the Grid Works
The blank multiplication table has an X and Y axis. The X axis of the chart is the horizontal line of numbers that goes across the grid. The Y axis of the grid is the vertical line, that runs down the left-hand side of the chart.
To work this graph, the problems are solved by multiplying the number on the X and Y axis together, then filling in the answers in the corresponding box.
For example, the graph starts off with 1 on the far-left side of the top, and 15 on the far right-hand side of the graph. Then on the left-hand side, there is another 1 listed, and the bottom left shows 15.
To work the multiplication chart, start by multiplying 1 times 1, the answer of 1 goes in the first box. Then, working left to right, on that very first line, these are the one times. Therefore, the answers on this line would be 1, 2, 3, etc. all the way across the top.
Then to work the second line, it starts with 2 times 1, which equals 2. Then continues with 2 times 2 equals 4. The whole second row is the two-times table. This same pattern continues throughout the entire 1 to 15 multiplication tables.
You will also notice the color coding on the graph. This represents the answers which are the same, on both the vertical and horizontal rows of the graph.
The blank worksheets can be used to work the problems, and then checked by the multiplication chart with the answers.
Multiplication Times Tables Sheets
I have also created and included some free multiplication times tables. These are set up as individual problems to work and get each simple multiplication fact. Adding multiplication problems to the chart is a great way to mix things up and help kids recognize that there is more than one way to work their multiplication tables.
Multiplication Times Tables
Not only is there a chart with multiplication tables ranging from 1 times all the way through 15 times tables, but also available to you for free are blank multiplication tables that can be solved as individual problems. This is a great tool to mix things up and help kids learn their times table facts.
You can also hang on to both of these multiplication tables to help kids learn the problems, plus they make a perfect reference sheet to look back on if you get stuck. Each times table chart is a great way to help your kids learn and stay sharp on their multiplication tables.
